Frequently Asked Questions |
What is JobJar? JobJar is where we connect people with all kinds of household jobs (that need doing) with qualified tradespeople who bid to work on those jobs. How long has JobJar been around? We started in South Florida in February 2012 (and we'll be expanding to your favorite city as soon as we can). How do I use JobJar? If you need work done. It's simple. Whenever you have a job that needs doing around the house, or office you simply click on POST A JOB on our homepage and fill out the details, add a few pictures and post it. Local interested and qualified tradespeople will see it and then bid on your job. If you want to find work. It's simple. You click on FIND A JOB on our homepage and start looking for jobs, according to the job type, or what neighborhood it's in, or when it starts. It's up to you. You click on the jobs that interest you and then you bid what you think would be a reasonable quote for the job. And your bid is sent to the customer. How does the bidding work? Qualified tradespeople will bid on the job you posted. You will get the top 3 (lowest priced bids) for your job, and you can review the people and companies before you choose which one you want to do the work. You also have the choice of seeing the top 3 bids from the highest ranked tradespeople as well. They may not have bid the lowest for the work, but they are ranked by people like you, based on their reputation and recommendations from the other jobs they've completed. After you choose the company you want to work with, we send you both contact information and you go from there. How many times can I bid on a job? You can bid up to three times on a job. But we'll notify you 24 hours before the job closes whether you're the best bidder or if someone has bid lower than you. We don't share what anyone's actual bid is - we only say whether you're the lowest or not. How will I know if I'm the winning bidder? Don't worry. We notify you 24 hours before the job closes to tell you if you're the winning bid or not. If not, you have 2 more bids to sharpen your pencil (if you want). Does it cost anything to post a job? Posting a job costs $4.99. But we only charge your credit card when the first bid comes in. Does it cost anything to find a job? You can see all the jobs you want, but you have to sign up with JobJar (either monthly or yearly) in order to actually bid on a job. CLICK HERE for subscription details. Does a reputation matter? Of course it does, because JobJar gives customers the option of seeing the best bids from the highest rated tradespeople. Which means the better a trade's reputation, the more chance there is for people to see and choose them for their jobs (even if you're not the lowest price on the table). What kind of jobs are listed on JobJar? A complete list of the types of jobs are found here. If it's not listed email us at info@jobjar.com and we'll be glad to add the category. Do the different colored flags represent different types of jobs? The orange flags on the maps are the normal jobs, in the customers' zip code areas. The red flags are emergency jobs that need help immediately. Why would I use JobJar and not some other recommendation site? For consumers: JobJar puts the power in your hands while eliminating the frustrating and time-consuming exercise of actually finding a qualified and reliable company to do your work. While some sites may list a lot of different categories and companies, they're not contacting them. They're not getting quotes from them. They're not making the companies bid for your work. And they're not contacting you with the best bids you can get. For Trades: You're getting real jobs, from paying customers, with lots of details. You can communicate with the customers from your desktop, or mobile phone, and see all your potential job details online. JobJar saves you valuable time chasing down customers, visiting potential projects, eliminating phone-tag and makes bidding a breeze. You also get timely responses, so you're not left hanging or missing work for a 'potential' lead. At JobJar, great work speaks for itself. Can a company pay to get a better ranking on JobJar? Only people who have had work done and experienced the company's service first-hand can rank the companies themselves. This way, you know that you're seeing the actual reviews and can qualify your results, before you choose to award your job to someone. How do I contact JobJar? You can reach us here: info@jobjar.com |
